Emmerdale fans complained minutes into tonight's episode of the ITV soap.
The show aired for the first time since last Friday owing to the schedule changes for the football - usually Emmerdale will air a half an hour episode each night of the week between Monday and Friday, with an hour long episode on Thursdays.
However, it didn't air on Monday and Tuesday this week owing to the football, which was broadcasted on ITV1 instead.
As the show kicked off tonight, viewers were transported back to a festive looking Emmerdale village as things picked up where they were left off.
Fans, though, were quick to complain about the lack of episodes the past two days - and were just glad the soap was back.
"About bloody time @itv it’s been a f***ing week #Emmerdale," one fan penned, whilst a second added: "By f***! That's a long weekend! #Emmerdale," referencing that the soap had been off air for four days including the weekend.
One viewer quipped: "It’s been so long I’ve almost forgotten how to work Twitter #Emmerdale."
Fans were thrilled to have the soap back and took to Twitter to share their excitement.
"No footie tonight so…Normal service resumed… #emmerdale," one wrote, whilst another added: "Finally The Soaps are back on #Emmerdale." A third shared: "Time for Emmerdale #Emmerdale."
One storyline that is being focused on at present is Chas' affair with the late Al Chapman after Chloe found out someone was having an affair with the late businessman. Whilst she has not yet worked out it's Chas, she has accused just about everyone else.
Speaking about the reaction to the storyline, Lucy - who plays Chas - said: "They are absolutely furious with her. In fact with all the storylines I've ever played I have never had a response like this. They are furious and the vigour and the anger they have is strong.
"They are cross – she has betrayed her marriage. But I do understand their reaction."
Lucy had previously told The Mirror how she doesn't like the storyline herself but has "sucked up her own feelings" about it to be able to portray it in the best way for viewers at home – as she slammed Chas' decisions.
"You have to [believe it.] Over the years, the amount of stories that have been pitched and given to you that are a massive gift to have, but not all the time do you believe it. Not all the time can you justify it as yourself," she said, "You have to put yourself in the character's position and go okay it’s being pitched to me, this is what I've gotta do, I have to try to believe it."
