Emmerdale fans call for 'boring' and 'dull' Charles and Ethan storyline to be axed

Emmerdale fans have demanded ITV bosses axe the "boring" storyline involving vicar Charles Anderson and his son Ethan.

During tonight's episode, Charles barges in on Ethan and Marcus who were about to have a romantic lunch together. Instead, Ethan's dad suggests to have a meal together and have "a bit more father-son time".

Viewers as well as Ethan seemed to agree that Charles was "overbearing" and needed to "back off". Ethan told him: "Just leave us alone for five minutes.

"Dad, look, I love you but me and Marcus need some time to ourselves. You need to back off."

Some Emmerdale fans have called on producers to improve the storyline or to bring back Harriet Finch as the vicar. Craig said: "Bored of the pointless vicar and his useless son now, such a dull storyline."

St Mick wrote: "We should launch a campaign to bring back Harry 5-0 as #Emmerdale’s vicar. She might have been shite but, by God, she was a damned sight better than Chuck."

Daniel commented: "Have this sappy pair and the vicar got no better storylines? Terrible acting."

Another viewer said: "Ethan is so dull. Him and Marcus so boooooring. And I've had enough of Charles. They were only brought in to make up quotas, and I believe Ethan's sister is about to join."

It comes after the news that Charles is about to be reunited with his long-lost daughter Naomi. Naomi is played by actress Karene Peter.

In scenes set to air next week, Charles' world will be turned upside down when son Ethan alerts him to the fact his sister has gone mission.

Emmerdale airs weeknights from 7.30pm on ITV.
