Emmerdale fans baffled by Rhona's marriage bid as they spot huge fire issue

Emmerdale viewers weren't especially sympathetic with Rhona as her marriage bid to Marlon went up in smoke – almost literally.

Rhona (Zoe Henry) proposes to Marlon (Mark Charnock) who turns her down over fears he won't recover from his stroke and be able to consummate their marriage. But Rhona's heartbreak is sidelined by an even 'hotter' health issue.

To create a romantic mood, Rhona lights dozens of candles but neglects to extinguish them as she hastily exits. She leaves stroke victim Marlon, who struggles to walk a single step with a zimmer frame, in a room full of lit candles.

Sue Haasler says: "Now I’m worried about Marlon being left alone with all those candles burning for an entire ad break."

Nanny Ing tweets: "That’s right, leave Marlon in a room full of candles on his own."

Sue Jones jokes: "I can’t believe Rhona left the house with all those candles lit around Marlon. Hope the HSE is not watching!"

Sally tweets: "Why has Rhona left Marlon with all those bloody candles on?"

And ASuperGav says: "Next test for Marlon, blowing out 67 candles while the house catches fire."

Thankfully Rhona's mum Mary comes in, blows the candles out and gives Marlon a ticking off for turning her daughter down. Then Paddy relights the candles but we may have to wait until the next episode to see if they'll need to call the fire brigade.

Later in tonight's episode, Faith reveals she has terminal cancer which silences her estranged son Cain, who has been making cruel jibes at her for most of the episode.

Sukavi2011 tweets: "Well that shut Cain up. Bet he will still find more nasty comments, just can't wind his neck in."
