Emmerdale has been flooded with 'when' questions after leaving fans seriously distracted with their latest social media post. The ITV soap had a reason to celebrate after they picked up the soap of the year gong at the 2023 TRIC awards.
The star-studded ceremony took place in London on Tuesday (June 27) and saw faces from the world of entertainment honoured by the Television and Radio Industries Club.
On the night, awards were given to Peaky Blinders for drama, Gogglebox for entertainment, A Place In The Sun for daytime, After Life for streamed TV, That Peter Crouch Podcast for podcast, Bradley Walsh for TV personality and The Great British Bake Off for food. The late Paul O’Grady and Nigel Farage were among the winners at the event.

But back to Emmerdale and their win comes after they missed out at the recent British Soap Awards, held at The Lowry theatre in Salford earlier this month, which was dominated by wins from Coronation Street for their recent acid attack storyline while EastEnders took home best soap on the night.
So the cast who headed out to the latest event were all smiles as they posed backstage with their golden award. Jeff Hordley, Rebecca Sarker, Jay Kontzle, Natalie Ann Jamieson, Ash Palmisciano, Natalie J. Robb and Olivia Bromley couldn't hide their excitement as they clung to the soap's award backstage.
Taking to social media to share the news, Emmerdale's social media team wrote: "WINNER! We couldn't be happier to win Soap Of The Year at the TRIC Awards! #Emmerdale."
And while most fans were congratulating the soap on their win, others were distracted that celebrity chef Ainsley Harriot joined them for the picture after seemingly being the one to give them the acknowledgement during the awards bash.
@jofearsmith1985 asked: "Whats Ainsley Harriet doing there?" @towner555 commented: "Ainsley Harriott though!.. WTF?" @magcol12 posted: "Ainsley Harriot - never known to miss an opportunity! What is he doing there?" @bristolgal29 laughed: "Is Ainsley the new chef at the Woolpack, Hide or B&B."
@cmony1 asked: "Is Ainsley in the show now?" @homebrew19721 tweeted: "When did ainsley harriott join Emmerdale." @jambocaz replied: "I was thinking the same....even zoomed in!!!"
