Emmerdale fans may be shocked to learn the actress who plays Faith Dingle is only 10-years older than her on-screen son Cain Dingle.
Faith Dingle first appeared as a recurring character in 2000 and 2004 and was portrayed by Gillian Jephcott. She returned as a regular character in February 2017, portrayed by Sally Dexter.
Faith's storylines have focussed on her fraught relationship with daughter Chas and son Cain. However, recent scenes have left Emmerdale viewers heartbroken as they discovered her breast cancer had returned.

In episodes that aired earlier this month, Faith was told the devastating diagnosis. Moira urged Faith to admit the news to her family, but she was adamant that she wanted to mend her relationships with Chas and Cain first.
With the storyline surrounding her family taking prominence on Emmerdale, fans may be surprised to know that there is a very small age gap between the actress who plays Faith and actor who plays her son Cain.
On Emmerdale, Faith's age has never been confirmed. However, we know that she was pregnant with Cain in 1974. It is therefore estimated her date of birth is between 1952 and 1958.
Off-screen, Sally Dexter, who plays Faith is 62-years-old, but actor Jeff Hordley, who plays her son Cain on the soap, is 52-years-old.
