Emmerdale fans have rumbled a twist that could see Tom King exit the village in a shock twist.
Tom – played by James Chase – has recently arrived in the village in a bid to set down some roots in the Dales following his tough past there. He had rekindled his romance with Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor Draper) and has been trying to patch things up with his uncle.
However, in scenes airing on the ITV soap tonight, Belle and Tom decided to call it quits after his reaction to her telling him that she had killed someone in the past. His reaction left Belle worried he would never accept what she had done and so she decided to call things off between them as she wanted to always be able to be herself around him.
Fans are now convinced this could lead to Tom's exit from the programme.
"Yes Tom go and disappear in Leeds #emmerdale," one wrote on a social media, as a second added: "We'll be glad to see the back of you too Tom! Absolutely no point in him coming back. #Emmerdale."
A third penned: "Tom darling if you want to get away from anyone in that village that's either killed someone, almost killed someone or tried to kill someone you'd better get going #emmerdale."
Speaking previously, James – who plays Tom – said of his character's arrival: "Tom is now a vet. He’s been working as a vet in Leeds. The things that happened in his life when he was younger, like when his father died and he found out the sort of man his father was, I think after his initial outburst of rage and confusion – he went back to Saudi Arabia to figure things out.
"It put Tom on a new path to become the best man he could be and just to be there for the people that he loves."
He had originally rekindled a romance with Belle, with that being the main reason he moved back.
"They were childhood sweethearts and they loved each other. Even though there was a lot of drama going on in his life at that time, she was a real shining star for him, the one good thing he could remember that gave him hope and love," he added.
"Then he realised, 'I’m much closer to the village, now could be the time to get closure and perhaps to see her again'. I think partly he just wanted to see her again just to make sure she was all right and happy and I think that was the main reason he came back."
With Belle now deciding that she doesn't want to be with him anymore, will that be the end of Tom's time in the village, and with his relationship with his uncle at the worst it has ever been, what could keep him in the Dales?
