Emmerdale Christmas spoilers as a forgotten character returns to the village

Emmerdale is set for a dramatic Christmas and New Year as ever, with a familiar face returning to the village.

Cain Dingle, played by Jeff Hordley, will have a visitor on Christmas Day, his brother Caleb, played by Mike Kelly, who is surprised their mother, Faith, played by Sally Dexter, has recently died. This is because Cain told him that Faith died 30 years ago.

An angry Caleb confronts his brother about the lie, and how Cain took away his only chance to get to know his family. But Cain simply tells Caleb to stay away from the Dingles.

Chas, played by Lucy Pargeter, is left feeling sad and alone, as Paddy, played by Dominic Brunt, spends Christmas with their daughter Eve and Marlon's family. But she is left stunned as a stranger approaches her with some bombshell news.

Elsewhere, Liam and Bernice, full of festive cheer, give in to a kiss, while Leyla eats a tragic Christmas dinner for one in Tug Ghyll. And stress levels rise for Paddy as he accidentally gives Vinny’s dog an overdose of sedative.

As he sits hopelessly in his car, tears begin to fall, with him clearly struggling to cope with everything. And a heartbroken David overhears Jacob’s friend refer to Leyla and Liam as Jacob’s mum and dad.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV and the ITV Hub
