Kevin Mathurin has quickly established himself as one of Emmerdale's most beloved figures.
The 50-year-old actor is renowned for his role as vicar Charles Anderson in the fictional Yorkshire village. The character joined the show on Christmas Day in 2020 when he stood in during the wedding between Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk.
He has since been embroiled in some of the show's most dramatic storylines and is currently in a relationship with Manpreet Sharma. Charles was at the centre of the action this week as he uncovered the real reason why Alex Moore is dating Naomi Anderson.

Alex was using the relationship to get close to the family and steal drugs from Manpreet's GP surgery. The character, played by Liam Boyce, has since been put in hospital after he was hit by a car.
Naomi told the police about her dad's frosty relationship with Alex - and Charles was arrested in last night's episode as police claimed he had a motive to commit the crime.
Away from the screen, Kevin's life is fortunately less dramatic than his onscreen counterpart's. However, the soap star is not just a talented actor as he revealed on Lorraine this week that he initially enjoyed a successful career as a dancer. He said: "When I left college in 1991, my journey started more on the dance career, so I kept going down that route."
Lorraine Kelly gasped as Kevin revealed he performed on stage alongside music icon Diana Ross, at Madison Square Garden in New York. He said: "We had a moment where, she likes to swap the running order of the show, so we would come on thinking we were doing a dance routine, and one time she decided ‘Ok I got a friend here in the audience.'
"And this friend starts walking up on stage and it’s Luther Vandross. They sing a duet of endless love and I’m sitting there like, I can’t believe this is happening."
Kevin also opened up on his happy family life on the ITV chat show as he is in a long term relationship with successful DJ, Nikki Beatnik. He said: "She's very talented with her craft and she's gone to some amazing places. I'm proud of her and I love hearing her amazing sets."
Kevin is happier than ever in the fictional Yorkshire village and revealed he is not planning on quitting anytime soon as he teased viewers will soon discover more about Charles' mysterious background. The actor said: "He's an amazing character.
"I love that he's not a traditional small village vicar. He's got a past and, as the character and storylines go on, you'll find out a bit more about why he turned to God."
