Emmerdale actress Karene Peters is leaving the ITV soap after one year.
The star, who portrays character Naomi Walters, will reportedly leave the soap in the coming weeks and is preparing to film her final scenes, writes The Mirror.
Karene joined the show last year to play the long lost daughter of Charles Anderson.
In the soap, Naomi has recently broke up with her boyfriend Nate, and things seem to be going well with her family despite all the drama that happened with villain Alex, where he was caught with drugs by her father Charles.
Naomi's exit storyline hasn't been unveiled as of yet, but she won't be killed off, as the door is being left open for the actress to return in the future.
It is believed Karene is leaving to pursue different roles.
A source told The Sun: "Karene’s loved her time on the soap but it is time for her to go. Being on Emmerdale was a dream but she became an actor to play different roles and that’s exactly what she wants to do.
"The door isn’t being closed on Naomi so she could always make a return down the line."
A spokesperson for the ITV soap has been contacted for comment.
