Emma Stone's latest feature collaboration with Poor Things director Yorgos Lanthimos has been confirmed for a summer release by Searchlight Pictures. The sci-fi anthology movie, Kinds of Kindness, is set to hit theaters on June 21. The star-studded cast includes Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer.
This announcement comes on the heels of Stone's recent Oscar win for her role in Poor Things, directed by Lanthimos. The duo previously worked together on the critically acclaimed film The Favourite, which received multiple Oscar nominations.
Kinds of Kindness was written by Lanthimos and Efthimis Filippou, known for their collaborations on previous projects such as The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer. The movie is produced by Lanthimos, Ed Guiney, Andrew Lowe, and Kasia Malipan.
During a recent event, Lanthimos hinted at the mysterious nature of Kinds of Kindness, describing it as three different stories that defy easy categorization. The film is currently in the final stages of editing.
Poor Things, another successful collaboration between Stone and Lanthimos, received critical acclaim and garnered multiple Oscar nominations and wins. Stone's performance in the film earned her a second Academy Award for Best Actress.
In addition to Kinds of Kindness, Stone is also set to star in the upcoming A24 Western film Eddington alongside Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal, and Austin Butler, which has recently begun production.
