Emma Raducanu parts ways with Sebastian Sachs in latest coaching carousel

Emma Raducanu has parted ways with her coach Sebastian Sachs as she rehabilitates from triple surgery.

The 20-year-old started working with the former German player at the end of last year, what was her fifth coach in under two years.

It now leaves her searching for a sixth coach as she bids to return to fitness and form later this year.

Announcing the news on social media on Thursday morning, Raducanu said: “I have really enjoyed Seb’s coaching and working with him. It’s unfortunate that circumstances made it unfeasible for both of us to continue right now and we have decided to part ways. I wish Seb all the best moving forwards.”

Raducanu has earned a reputation for chopping and changing coaches. She was guided by Nigel Sears during her Wimbledon breakthrough back in 2021 and then by Andrew Richardson for the US Open title triumph.

After that, she turned to German Torben Beltz until April last year before a partnership with the Russian Dmitry Tursunov, which only lasted until October.

Raducanu has ruled herself out of the summer series of tournaments, including the French Open and Wimbledon, after undergoing surgery on both wrists and her ankle. It is unclear when she might return to action or who her next coaching appointment might be.
