Eminem celebrated his 50th birthday this weekend as fans celebrate his half century
The rapper grew up in poverty in Detroit before becoming one of the most successful artists of our generation. He burst onto the music scene with huge tracks like The Real Slim Shady and Mockingbird as he used
His songs about his struggles and heartbreak captured the hearts of the listeners and are still widely listened to today.
But as fans across the world toast his amazing life, some conspiracy theorists still bizarrely claim that the star has actually been dead for years. The far fetched theory claims that the singer who goes by the real name Marshall Mathers, actually passed away in 2006 under the radar and was replaced with a clone version of the 'Lose Yourself' songwriter, the Daily Star reports.
The alleged proof behind this absurd speculation is that the rapper's youthful facial features never seem to age, there are clips of him ''glitching'' and a sequence of obscure tweets issued out by American rapper, B.o.B who shared his shocking personal beliefs that celebrities are being cloned.
However, the key piece of evidence which emerged recently was a song released by Tom MacDonald in 2019 called 'Cloned Rappers' that features the lyrics, "Illuminati took bone samples to clone rappers" and then put the real beings in prison to "silence their vision".
"If they can't control you they erase the old you," he continued, before listing some of the names that have been cloned. "They cloned Gucci, cloned Kodiak, cloned Eminem, he ain't rapped since Encore, know that."
It wasn't just the track that set conspiracy theorists' tongues wagging. The music video looked like a scene straight out of Frankenstein, seemingly showing "clones" being created in a lab.
It also featured a scene showing newspaper cut-outs of Tom supposedly being in a car crash – hinting that he had been brought back to life as a clone just like the bizarre Eminem conspiracy. The video has been seen millions of times on YouTube and believers in the theory flooded the comments section with their conspiracies.
“He looks different plus he's been gone too long especially before kill shot,” one commented. Another said: “It’s true, Eminem is not the same.”
A third agreed, saying: “All this has been a move for a long time...I just hope the ignorant will finally understand.” Not everyone was convinced, though, with some suggesting the lyrics were simply metaphorical for rappers no longer being able to express themselves.
