Arsenal star Emile Smith Rowe has praised the club's 'fantastic' new signings Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira as the Gunners continue preparations for the 2022/23 season.
The Gunners have signed four new players so far this summer, with Jesus and Vieira joining Matt Turner and Marquinhos in moving to the Emirates. football.london understands that Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to be the fifth incoming of the transfer window after the club agreed a £32million deal with Manchester City, with the Ukraine international set for a medical this week.
Jesus has impressed in pre-season so far, scoring in both games against Nurnberg and Everton. Vieira is yet to feature and is still recovering from a foot injury that has hampered the Portuguese playmaker's pre-season preparations, but Smith Rowe has likened the 21-year-old to his national compatriot Bernardo Silva of Manchester City.

In an interview with the Evening Standard, Smith Rowe revealed how Jesus has adapted to life with Arsenal so quickly. The England U21 star said: “He’s been fantastic since he came in, it feels like he’s been here for a couple of years.
"Everyone knows how good he is and we can’t wait to get started with him. Man City are a big club and they’ve won a lot recently. It would be good if he could bring that [winning] mentality and help us out.”
Commenting on Vieira's ability, Smith Rowe believes he has similar qualities to that of City star Bernardo Silva. “He’s very similar [to Silva],” says the 21-year-old. “He’s a very good passer of the ball, his left foot is very good and he likes to create goals and score them himself.
“I’ve already played against him at international level, so I can’t speak highly enough of him, and the fans should be really excited. At the Euro Under-21s, they [Portugal] beat us 2-0 and he was unbelievable in that game.”
Smith Rowe seems to be relishing the competition for places at the Gunners after the signing of Vieira. The likes of Odegaard, Vieira and Smith Rowe will fight it out to start in the no.10 role, although the Spaniard has also floated the idea of Smith Rowe operating as a false nine and on the left-wing.
“As a young player, you don’t really care where you play, you just want to be playing,” the 21-year-old said. “I am open to anything, we will see what happens.”
