Emergency services swarmed a street in Bolton and cordoned off the road following a reported gas leak on Wednesday afternoon (April 19).
Police, fire crews and gas company Cadent attended the scene on Derby Street in Bolton just before 12.30pm and blocked off the road at the junction with University Way and Fletcher Street.
A number of police vehicles were pictured at the cordon as fire crews worked at the scene, discovering the gas leak had come from a ruptured pipe, before ventilating the property involved.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) said: “Just before 12.30pm this afternoon (Wednesday 19th April), two engines from Bolton Central fire station were called to reports of a gas leak on Derby Street, Bolton.”
“Crews arrived quickly at scene and worked to make the area safe. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatuses used dammit paste, a gas monitor and small tools to reduce the gas leak from a ruptured pipe and ventilate the property above the gas leak.”
“Firefighters have been in attendance for around an hour and forty minutes and are still at the scene.”
