Emergency services swarmed a street in Openshaw on Tuesday afternoon (July 11) after a van flipped over in a crash leaving five injured.
Police cordoned off Parkhouse Street shortly before 4pm after a collision involving three vehicles. A number of police vehicles and fire engines, including a Technical Response Unit attended the scene, where a van had flipped over onto its side.
Fire crews could be seen using equipment and helping to rescue two people from the van, before they were assessed along with three others by paramedics. Everyone involved sustained minor injuries, with police enquiries ongoing.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: "At around 3.50pm today (11 July 2023), officers were called to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision in Parkhouse Street, Openshaw. Five people received minor injuries. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 4pm on Tuesday, 11th July, fire engines from Philips Park, Manchester Central and Blackley stations, alongside the technical response unit from Leigh, were called to reports of a road traffic collision on Meech Street, in Manchester.
“The collision involved three vehicles. Firefighters used specialist equipment to extricate two casualties from a van, who were then transferred to the care of colleagues from North West Ambulance Service. Fire crews were in attendance for around 50 minutes.”
