Emergency services swarmed Paisley’s museum on Friday night after a man fell from scaffolding on the historic building.
The Special Operations Response Team (SORT) raced to the site – which is currently undergoing a £42million refurbishment – around 7.30pm following a call from museum security staff.
The dramatic scene saw more than six emergency service vehicles fill the town’s High Street as they attended the incident as stunned onlookers watched it unfold.

Security officers at the town’s museum contacted police after becoming concerned for the welfare of a man who had fallen from scaffolding at the site.
Firefighters, paramedics and police raced to the scene to attend to the man, who was found injured when they arrived.
One person, who witnessed the drama, told the Express: “It looked really serious.
“There was more than one ambulance and a few police cars as well as a fire engine.
“We saw someone being taken away in a stretcher and put in the back of an ambulance.
“Thankfully it appeared that it looked more serious than it actually was as it was quite a sight to see in the High Street.”
The injured man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley to be checked over, but police confirmed he did not sustain any serious injuries as a result of the fall.
A spokesman from Police Scotland said: “We received a call from security staff at Paisley Museum around 7.30pm on January 21 following concerns for a member of the public who had fallen from scaffolding at the
site.
“Officers and other emergency services agencies arrived at the Paisley Museum in the High Street where a man was found injured and taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.”
The spokesman added: “Following enquiries we can confirm a 47-year-old man was charged with a section 57 offence, which involves being in a designated area with an intent to steal. A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
Paisley museum has been closed since September 2018 to undergo major refurbishment works as part of a multi-million pound town centre project.
It is set to open its doors again this year following the refurbishment.
