Emergency services are working to clear a crash from the M50 southbound near Firhouse but have made an appeal to other motorists.
The crash occurred before 8am on Thursday morning amid rush hour traffic, causing some delays on the route.
Lanes 2 and 3 of the road were closed for a time as gardaí and firefighters attended the scene but Dublin Fire Brigade shared their frustrations with other motorists on Twitter.

Posting a picture from the scene, they said: "We're working with @GardaTraffic and @M50Dublin to clear a RTC on the M50 Southbound at Junction 12 Firhouse/Knocklyon. Lanes 2 and 3 are closed.
"The road should be cleared soon. Rubberneckers are causing a tail back on the Northbound carriageways."
They claim people slowing down to look at the scene are causing further delays and hampering the flow of traffic.
The RSA has previously warned against rubbernecking, saying the dangerous and often intrusive practice can be subject to fines from gardaí.
Their warning came in 2019 after a number of crash sites were recorded on phones and later posted to social media.
At the time, the RSA cautioned that gardaí "have the powers" to issue fines for such behaviour. They said they had a number of options in terms of the charge to bring against a motorist in that instance.
"Also from a road safety point-of-view, the emergency services...are there trying to deal with a tragic accident," the RSA boss said at the time.
"It's unfolding and they are trying to manage the traffic, trying to prevent further collisions as a result."
They added that rubberneckers are putting "themselves and in particular putting the emergency services at risk."
