Emergency services rush to park after man found 'conscious but cold' in early hours

A man was found 'conscious but cold' after emergency crews were called to a park in Bolton in the early hours.

Mountain rescue workers, police and paramedics were called to Haslam Park at around 2.40am yesterday morning (Thursday). The ambulance service received a report of a man 'believed to be unconscious after a fall'.

The Bolton Mountain Rescue Team (BMRT) was called to try and help find him. Crews found the man 'conscious but cold' and he was cared for by paramedics.

A post on the BMRT Facebook page said: "At 02:41 this morning the team was contacted by North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust who were requesting our assistance to locate a male, believed to be unconscious after a fall, in the vicinity of Haslam Park, Bolton.

"The first team members were on scene at 03:02 and set off on foot with the NWAS crew towards the last known position of the casualty. At the same time officers from Greater Manchester Police approached the same position (from a different direction) and fortunately located the male, now conscious but cold.

"The male was conveyed back to the Haslam Park RVP by police where he was initially assessed by our team members and then handed over to the NWAS crew. The team was on the scene for 90 minutes."
