Emergency services called after man collapses on County Durham street but later died

Emergency services were called after a man collapsed in a County Durham street.

Police officers received a call at 2.35pm on Tuesday, March 1 from the ambulance service after a man collapsed on Horndale Avenue, in Newton Aycliffe.

Paramedics carried out emergency CPR on the man but tragically he passed away at the scene.

Durham Police have since confirmed that there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called at 2.35pm on Tuesday (March 1) by the ambulance service after a man collapsed on Horndale Avenue, in Newton Aycliffe.

"Paramedics carried out emergency CPR on the man, but tragically he passed away at the scene.

"There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death."
