Today is a big day for Bristol, as superstar Elton John is set to take the city for a huge gig at Ashton Gate. Sir Elton John will perform tonight (Wednesday, June 22) at the stadium and again on Sunday, June 26.
The show is part of the star's farewell tour, as he plans for retirement. The Rocket Man singer returned to the UK last week and has performed in Norwich and Liverpool as well as Sunderland and will also make appearances in London, Swansea, Cork and Watford as well as Bristol.
There has been plenty of buzz and fans are ready and waiting - however for some, the excitement has turned to stress. Those with hospitality tickets to see the star have encountered a hiccup, as their tickets are yet to arrive - despite it being the day of the show.

A spokesperson from Ashton Gate has commented on the issue, telling Bristol Live that the tickets were dispatched from the stadium last week. “This is a really big day for the city and everyone works incredibly hard to make these concerts a success.
"Our delivery partner only informed us late yesterday afternoon of their mistake, despite us chasing them from first thing Monday morning. We are so disappointed to be let down at the final hurdle, but we’d like to reassure our hospitality guests they will be able to collect tickets on arrival at the stadium from the designated hospitality collection point at the Winterstoke Road entrance.”
Since the issue was identified, urgent emails have been sent to all lead bookers on hospitality ticket orders. The email said: "Our postal delivery partner has just informed us that the tickets which were sent out last week from Ashton Gate, for Elton John’s concerts tomorrow (Wednesday) and Sunday have not been distributed by them.
"Obviously, we are extremely disappointed by this and have now taken measures to make it as easy as possible for you to collect your tickets on the day." The email also details how hospitality ticket holders can claim their tickets.
From 12 noon today (Wednesday 22), the Ashton Gate hospitality team will be stationed to greet ticket holders at the main Winterstoke Road entrance to the stadium. So, anyone who would like to collect their tickets before the official opening time of 4pm is welcome to do so.
However, there is no access past this collection point until 4pm when the Fan Village and Stadium officially opens. On arrival at Gate 1 (pictured below) guests are invited to make their way to the left – where they will see the Wedlock Wall (also pictured below) which is to the left of the Ticket Office where the hospitality team will be stationed from 12 noon.
Guests can either collect all of their group’s hospitality tickets in one go, or individual tickets can be collected on arrival separately. In order to do this, a guest list will be needed so that the team can ensure all of your guests are accommodated correct; a spokesperson for Ashton Gate said: "Please email us on: events@ashtongate.co.uk with your lead booker name and the guestlist and we will look after the rest."
If guests cannot arrive at the stadium early, tickets can be collected on arrival to the concert from 4pm onwards. Ashton Gate have confirmed that there will be an obvious separate line for collection, allowing for minimal issues with ticket collection.
The instructions regarding collection at the venue will apply for the Sunday show. Guests are invited to collect tickets from 9am-5pm on Friday or, alternatively - ahead of the concert on Sunday.
