Mega-rich Tesla owner Elon Musk shocked football fans around the world on Tuesday evening when he claimed he was ‘buying Manchester United’.
The world’s richest person - worth an estimated $270billion (approximately £223bn) - was urged by fans of the Red Devils to take over their club back in April when he submitted a bid in the region of $41billion (£31bn) to buy Twitter.
And the 51-year-old taunted the Old Trafford faithful on Tuesday evening by claiming he was ready to fulfil their wishes, replying to an unrelated tweet about politics with: ‘Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome’.
