Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg have had a history of public disagreements, with Musk even challenging Zuckerberg to a cage match in the past. However, Musk recently offered a rare compliment to Zuckerberg after Meta released its latest AI model, Llama 3.1. Musk praised Zuckerberg for open-sourcing the model, which Meta claims can outperform OpenAI's GPT-40.
Both Musk and Zuckerberg have expressed ambitions to dominate the AI space. Zuckerberg revealed that Meta has been accumulating AI chips from Nvidia to scale its AI capabilities. Similarly, Musk's AI startup xAI raised $6 billion in funding during their Series B round in May.
