Elliot Anderson to complete Man City move from Nottingham Forest after World Cup

  • Manchester City have secured the signing of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson , with the transfer set to be formally completed once he returns from the World Cup.
  • The 23-year-old underwent his medical in Kansas, where the England national team is currently based, ahead of their last-16 match against Mexico.
  • While initial reports suggested a British record fee of £130m, the transfer figure is understood to be closer to £116m, establishing a new club record for Manchester City.
  • Anderson marks the first acquisition of the post-Pep Guardiola era and is expected to significantly bolster new manager Enzo Maresca's squad, whose return to the club was confirmed recently.
  • The midfielder has been a consistent starter in all four of England’s World Cup matches and has received high praise from national team boss Thomas Tuchel, who described him as “the full package” and a “key player”.
