Ellie Goulding has finally responded to the old rumour she cheated on Ed Sheeran with Niall Horan.
Back in 2013, it was reported that the Starry Eyed singer and Ed were dating, but people began speculating she may have had a fling with One Direction's Niall, after Ed wrote Don't.
The 36-year-old, who has been regularly posting clips on her TikTok, shut down the long-lived gossip after nearly 10 years.
After sharing a clip in December, one fan wrote: "Can't believe you cheated on Ed with Niall but slay."
Ellie hilariously answered: "False!!!! But also slay."
Fans loved her answer and took to the comment section to joke about it, with one user writing: "Never mind Ed or Niall, I'm available."
Ed's song Don't was about an ex-girlfriend cheating on him with a friend, with people pondering whether it was about Niall and Ellie – but the speculation was never founded.
Fans also thought Ed and Ellie dated as they were seen holding hands at the MTV VMA Awards in late 2013.
She denied the rumours the same night by tweeting: "I love that holding hands with my friends means we're an item.
"In that case I am in many relationships. Lover not a hater. #whatthef**k."
The singer later revealed she went on a few dates with Niall but never dated Ed.
"I did go on a few dates with Niall but I was never in a relationship with Ed," she explained at the time. "I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing.
"I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven’t dated."
The song Don't by Ed details how a 'singer ex' cheated on him with a friend in the same hotel they were all staying at, while he was downstairs.
"The story in Don’t is 100% true. I could have gotten nastier – there was more s*** that I didn’t put in," Ed revealed.
Lyrics to the track include: "I never saw him as a threat, ’til you disappeared with him to have sex," and "If I show courtesy and respect to someone, I expect to receive it."
Ellie went on to marry Caspar Jopling, with the two sharing one child together.
Meanwhile, Ed married childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn and the couple have two children.
