Ellie Goulding feared career would be over if she didn't work weeks after giving birth

Ellie Goulding feared her career would be over if she didn't get back in the recording studio just weeks after giving birth.

The Love Me Like You Do star, 36, welcomed her first child Arthur in 2021, but says she 'rushed' back to work because of the 'pressure to stay visible'.

"When I had Arthur I went straight back in the studio way too soon, way too soon," she admitted.

"I was looking back at some pictures that were sent to me I think by Arthur's granny that were like, 'Oh, he's missing you' - he was only three weeks old and I was already back in the studio.

"When I think how small he was and how young he was I can't believe that I left him behind to go and work, but I went into survival mode."

Ellie admits the mix of social media and music consumption is creating an 'unhealthy work/life balance' for artists, claiming: "If you get off the train you become invisible," reports MailOnline.

However, the singer has just recorded a new track, Miracle, with Calvin Harris, which she says the Scot wants to release "soon".

The song is the third collaboration between the pair, having worked together on I Need Your Love in 2012 and Outside in 2014.

Admitting she and Calvin have a "good thing going", Ellie said she's excited to release their new track as well as her own album Higher Than Heaven, which drops March 24.

Ellie found herself at the centre of controversy earlier this month after 'BRIT t*t gate'.

The award-winning singer stunned at the awards ceremony sporting an eye-catching black armoured plate with sculpted breasts.

However, after singer Tom Grennan, 27 made a controversial comment about the outfit, fans were fuming.

As the pair took to the stage at the O2 Arena to present an award, Tom couldn't resist asking the mum-of-one if they were her real breasts.

The Starry Eyed singer joked she wished they were because hers were 'further apart', but viewers watching at home were outraged.

However, taking to Twitter the next day, Ellie defended Tom, claiming the Remind Me singer meant no harm when joking on stage.

She tweeted: "A word on Brit/ t*t gate … I was wearing a beautiful breastplate, thank you all for appreciating it ;)

"My friend @Tom_Grennan is 100% an ally and we were having a bit of fun. No offence taken, no harm intended- and no other interpretations necessary x."
