Ellie Goulding and her husband Caspar Jopling have reportedly been spending time apart amid marriage struggles.
The couple tied the knot four years back in 2019 at York Minster, and welcomed their first child, Arthur, together in 2021.
Lights hitmaker Ellie, 36, and her art dealer husband, 31, first started dating in 2017, with Caspar popping the question one year later in 2018.
The couple were recently spotted out in London on a rare date night looking downcast on their way to a swanky eatery.
Mum-of-one Ellie was seen wearing a sleeveless top with black PVC trousers for the romantic date night in the capital which saw them visiting an art gallery before going for dinner together.
The singer showcased her new hairdo as she stepped out with an Albany-coloured crop.
After trying to work around their hectic schedules in recent months, their marriage has reportedly suffered with the couple now spending time separately.
However, they reportedly 'remain close' as they continue to co-parent their son Arthur together.
Due to the fact Ellie and Caspar continue to share their marital homes together, their close friends are hopeful that they may rekindle their marriage in time.
However, as it stands now, the couple who have been married for four years, have decided that 'some space and time apart would be best for them'.
Speaking to The Sun, a source close to Ellie and Caspar said: "There have been ups and downs for a while, but they have always strongly felt they wanted to stay together so they could both be with their son.
“In the end they’ve tried to find a compromise where they continue to share lots of time together for their son Arthur, but outside of that sometimes live separate lives for now.
“There is no discussion of a divorce and neither of them have been in a new relationship – the priority is to keep good friends and remain amicable whilst they work out their next steps, so they can stay close and enjoy being mum and dad to Arthur."
The source added that there will 'always be a lot of love between' the pair and that they will always want 'the best' for one another - no matter the outcome of their relationship.
The Mirror has contacted Ellie and Caspar's representatives for comment.
