Country music star Elle King made a comeback on stage at the Extra Innings Festival in Tempe, Arizona, following a controversial and drunken performance at a Dolly Parton tribute event in Nashville earlier this year. The 34-year-old singer performed in a red long-sleeve top paired with a matching snakeskin skirt, accessorized with black sunglasses and minimal jewelry.
King is set to perform as a support act on Chris Stapleton's All American Road Show tour in San Diego and has upcoming shows in the U.K. and North America this spring. This festival appearance comes after her January performance where she admitted to being intoxicated and forgetting lyrics, leading to some fans requesting refunds.
Following the incident, King postponed five upcoming concerts and apologized to fans on social media. Parton, whose birthday was being celebrated at the event, expressed understanding and forgiveness towards King, emphasizing that the singer had been going through tough times.
King has been open about her struggles with performing under the influence of alcohol, acknowledging that she has used alcohol to cope with stage nerves in the past. However, she has also emphasized the importance of prioritizing her role as a mother to her 2-year-old son above all else.
