Elle Edwards' nan will miss 'beautiful granddaughter' 'until we meet again'

The heartbroken nan of Elle Edwards has paid tribute to her "beautiful granddaughter".

The 26-year-old died after being shot at the Lighthouse Inn pub in Wallasey on Christmas Eve. Merseyside Police subsequently confirmed that she had not been the intended target of the shooting.

Lucy Edwards, Elle's sister, posted the moving tribute on her Instagram page on behalf of her nan Marlene. Her nan described memories she has with Elle, including tea and cake at the kitchen table and laughs shared together.

The tribute said: "I don't use social media so I'm posting on here. Elle Marlene my gorgeous granddaughter, I will love and miss you for the rest of my time, until we meet again. I miss you bringing me my cakes and sitting on the kitchen table having a cup of tea with me and all the laughs we would have.

"I love you more than anything in this world and I keep staring at your picture on the fireplace. You will always be with us my beautiful granddaughter and you will never be forgotten. Love from nan Marlene."

Elle's family previously said in a tribute in December how anyone who met the 26-year-old "instantly fell in love with her" and was the "glue" which held the family together.

The tribute said: "There was no one as beautiful as our Elle May, her looks, her laugh and the way she would light up a room as soon as she walked in. She had this way about her that as soon as you met her you just instantly fell in love with her, everyone that met Elle knew how special she was.

"Her laugh was infectious anyone who was around her had a good time, she loved her life and had so many amazing plans for the future. She was only just getting started. Christmas and our family will never be the same again without her.

"She was the glue that held this big family together, from all of us. We will love and miss her forever. Our Elle May, the most beautiful and bright star out there, forever and always.

"My beautiful Elle Marlene is the love of my life and she is my world, my best friend. She will always shine and be beautiful and bright, my Elle has never gone."

Connor Chapman, 22, of Houghton Road in Woodchurch, was charged with her murder last week. He appeared at Wirral Magistrates' Court on Friday, January 13.

Chapman was not asked to enter a plea to the murder charge or counts of attempted murder against Kieran Salkeld and Jake Duffy. Similarly, he was not asked to enter pleas to charges of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent in which the alleged victims were named as Harry Loughran, Nicholas Speed and Liam Carr.

The defendant also faces counts of possession of a firearm and ammunition with intent to endanger life, namely a Skorpion submachine gun and 9mm short 0.380 auto/acp calibre ammo. A further charge of handling stolen goods states he was in possession of a stolen 19-plate Mercedes A-Class between December 22 and Boxing Day last year.
