Elizabeth Hurley has a secret rivalry with a fellow actress who once stole a role from her - and even dated the same man.
The 57-year-old star has enjoyed a glittering career in the modelling, acting and fashion worlds - first stepping into the spotlight in the 1980s.
But over the years, she has crossed paths with a fellow actress - and a simmering secret feud has been rumbling behind the scenes for decades.
Liz says the beef she has with the unidentified celeb essentially helped her kick-start her own career - as she turned her dislike for her into fuel to land an acting job.
Opening up on the Just For Variety podcast, Liz said that she landed her role in the 1988 miniseries Christabel on the BBC thanks to the feud.
She explained: “They screen tested three other girls, all of whom were sort of names, as much as you are a name in your early twenties in England.
“I was really the long shot, and I got it. I was sitting in the BBC lobby, waiting to meet the director, and the girl before me was somebody I detested. I put myself in a mindset.
"I was so riled up by seeing this girl, and I thought, ‘Over my dead body is she going to get this part and not me’.
“So I went on a charm offensive and got a screen test and then got it. And if she hadn’t been sat in that lobby I might not have got it.”
Liz went on to explain that she still dislikes the other star - but got the ultimate revenge by having a longer lasting career than her.
She said: “We’re still not friends. She’d dated a boyfriend of mine. It’s pathetic, sorry, we really don’t need to go into this.
“She didn’t go on to do very well. She was much more successful than me at the time. But I overtook her.”
Since Liz was successful in turning her fury into success back in the ‘80s, fans could perhaps expect to see her bursting with more ambition in the weeks ahead - as she’s been left fizzing mad thanks to a cock up with British Airways.
Taking to social media earlier this month, Liz hit out at the airline after she was left ‘stranded’ in the Caribbean.
She fumed: "Stranded at Antigua airport with no food or water, taxis or hotels offered yet. Plane delayed 20 hours.”
Adding an hour later: "Still stranded- no food, water or hotel. Pretty dodgy service."
British Airways quickly responded and blamed the delay on a "technical issue with our flight planning".
A spokesman added: "We’re experiencing delays to some of our flights due to a technical issue with our flight planning. We're sorry for the disruption to your journey, we’re urgently investigating this so that you travel as soon as possible."
