Elizabeth Holmes documentary breaks box office records and earns major Oscar buzz

  • Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s Elizabeth Holmes documentary, You Can See Everything , achieved a staggering $15 million opening weekend box office debut across North America, more than double its $7 million projection.
  • The A24 feature became the second-highest grossing debut for a non-musical documentary in over 20 years, behind only 2004’s Fahrenheit 9/11 after breaking the previous record set by Chimpanzee in 2012.
  • Produced secretly over three years, the film intimately follows Theranos scammer Holmes and her partner Billy Evans in the final weeks leading up to her 11-year prison sentence in 2023.
  • Despite a limited release on around 850 screens, the nearly three-hour documentary achieved second place overall at the box office, behind Paramount's video game adaptation Street Fighter .
  • The release has received widespread critical acclaim, securing a 99 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes and prompting Oscar speculation for a potential historic Best Picture nomination.
