Elijah Wood makes surprise Lord of the Rings admission 25 years later

  • The actor, cast as Frodo 27 years ago, revealed he has only recently begun reading the classic fantasy series.
  • His decision to finally read the books comes as a new Lord of the Rings film, The Hunt for Gollum, is in production, directed by Andy Serkis.
  • Sir Ian McKellen is confirmed to return as Gandalf, and Wood is strongly suspected to reprise his role as Frodo in the upcoming movie.
  • The Hunt for Gollum is slated for release in 2027, with casting speculation also surrounding the role of Aragorn.
