Elias Melkersen has sealed a loan move to Sparta Rotterdam as the Hibs forward searches for more game time.
The Norwegian forward sealed the deal to join the Hibees last January from Bodo/Glimt for a "significant undisclosed fee" but found the transition to Scotland difficult with just three goals in 29 appearances since making the switch to the Leith outfit. The 20-year-old has seen a lack of game time with returning Kevin Nisbet holding down the fort on rock-solid form.
Now the youngster is off to Holland on loan with Lee Johnson insisting his attitude merits more game time but the Hibees claim a potentially £1m plus fee could be included in the deal.

Johnson told the club's website: “Elias is a player that has all the attributes to be a top number nine. Given the return of Kevin Nisbet, we believe now is the time for Elias to get regular starts to implement all the hard work he’s put into training.
“In Sparta Rotterdam, he has a club and therefore a vehicle to get regular starts to showcase his talents.”
