HIBS hero Elias Melkersen has followed-up his Scottish Cup double with a call-up for Norway U20 duty.
The 19-year-old marked his first start for Shaun Maloney ’s side with both goals in Sunday’s 2-1 quarter final win at Motherwell.
Now the £350,000 January signing from Bodo Glimt is preparing to join-up with Jan Peder Jalland's Norway U20 squad next week ahead of UEFA Elite League games against Romania and Italy later this month.
Melkersen has been thrust into the Hibs frontline after Kevin Nisbet was ruled out for up to nine months with an ACL injury.
But he won’t miss any Premiership action with the international double header scheduled for March 24 and 28 - in between Hibs ’ trip to face Aberdeen and home meeting with Dundee United.
Melkersen has already represented Norway at both U18s and U20s level where he has won four caps and scored three goals for his country.
