Multiple fighters who competed during a hellacious UFC 283 in Rio De Janeiro could be facing six months out of the octagon after being slapped with medical suspensions.
Deiveson Figueiredo was defeated by doctor's stoppage in his flyweight title tetralogy with Brandon Moreno after suffering an injury which saw his eye swell shut and could force him to have surgery for a broken orbital bone. And he has been joined on the list of medical suspensions by main event fighters Jamahal Hill and Glover Texeira who fought for the light-heavyweight title.
Texeira won't be too concerned about any sort of suspension after retiring on a world title fight in his home country, while Hill will likely provide the necessary scans to put an end to the suspension early. Lauren Murphy, Paul Craig, Ihor Potieria, Melquizael Costa, Cody Stamman, Warlley Alves, Nicolas Dalby and Josiane Nunes are also facing six-month stints on the sidelines.
According to UFC 283 medical suspensions released by the Brazilian MMA Athletic Commission (CABMMA), all of the fighters listed must be cleared by a facial CT scan or face a 180-day spell out of action. At a minimum, they face 30 or 45 day suspensions depending on the circumstances of their fights.
Hill and Texeira were both transported to a local hospital in Rio de Janeiro for safety precautions following their fight, meaning they were absent from the event's post-fight press conference. The extent of their injuries is unclear, but Teixeira did leave the cage with several facial lacerations that will require stitches.

And in one clip, Hill can be seen having clean, unopened water poured over his head, leading it to turn completely red due to cuts on his head. The new champion was overwhelmed with emotion when the official decision was read out, breaking down in tears when the decision was read.
It was a rough night at the office for Brit Craig, who was stopped in the first round by Johnny Walker and hit with a big suspension. Another major player on the UK scene during his Cage Warriors days; Dane Nicolas Dalby, was hit with a suspension despite winning his bout with Warlley Alves.
