Electric vehicle sales brake as car market slows again

Australian drivers have put the brakes on new car purchases for the sixth month in a row, with electric vehicles suffering a particularly slow start to the year.

The Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries revealed the extent of the slowdown on Wednesday, with sales figures from January showing the market fell 3.3 per cent or by almost 3000 vehicles.
