Elections for all 50 seats in the North Carolina Senate will be held on November 3, 2026.
Republicans hold a veto-proof 30–20 majority. If Republicans win 30 or more seats, they will maintain their veto-proof majority. If Democrats win 25 or more seats, they will gain a majority for the first time since 2010. A 25–25 tie would result in Democratic control over the chamber because Lt. Gov. Rachel Hunt is a Democrat.
All 20 incumbent Democrats and 28 of 30 incumbent Republicans are running for re-election. Republicans are running in all but five districts and Democrats are running in all but one district. One Democratic incumbent–Haseeb Fatmi–is running in a district President Donald Trump (R) won in 2024. No Republican incumbents are running in districts Kamala Harris (D) won in 2024.
