Police have launched an investigation after an elderly woman was assaulted in Troon on Halloween.
Officers are appealing for information after a man- described as 5ft10 and wearing dark clothing- demanded money from a 76-year-old woman before assaulting her and running off.
The incident took place on Wood Road in Troon at around 7pm on Monday, October 31.
Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have any information is urged to call police on 101.
A police spokesperson said: “Officers are appealing for information after a 76-year-old woman was assaulted on Wood Road, Troon around 7pm on Monday, 31 October, 2022.
“The male suspect demanded money before assaulting the woman and running off.
“The suspect is described as 5ft 10ins tall and was wearing dark clothing.
“Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information which could assist our investigation should call police via 101, quoting incident number 2612 of 27 November, 2022.”
