An elderly man has died after fire destroyed a home north of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to a fire at the Caboolture home about 6.15am on Friday, where the elderly man lived alone, police said.

The body of the 80-year-old was found in the rubble after firefighters brought the blaze under control.

Investigations into the cause of the fire continue, but police do not believe the blaze was suspicious.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
