An elderly couple have been left devastated after their home was robbed during a 'lost cat' scam in north Dublin.
The incident happened in Baldoyle on Monday afternoon and jewellery, €1,000 in cash, and paperwork were stolen. Footage seen by Dublin Live shows Jean and Colm Rafter at home when a woman called to their door and "pretended she was looking for her cat".
The woman "persisted on them letting her out to the back" and when they did, a man entered the house and carried out the theft. The couple's daughter Ailbhe told Dublin Live that her parents have been "left devastated beyond belief" following the incident.
