Ekin-Su CülcüloÄlu fancies a shot at the Eurovision Song Contest after being crowned the winner of this year’s Love Island.
The Turkish actress, 28, won the eighth series of the ITV2 series with her boyfriend Davide Sanclimenti last month and is already eyeing up her next challenge.
Fans began an online campaign for CülcüloÄlu to represent the UK after her music background was revealed with her previously featuring on a song called Yeniden BaÅlasın with Turkish popstar Seçil Gür.
Even former Love Island winner Amber Gill threw her support behind the campaign, writing on social media: “Ekin-su is going get us the Eurovision win!?! Who would have thought #loveisland.”
The brunette has now responded to the calls and confirmed she would love to take part in the singing competition.
Asked in an interview with Goss.ie if she would like to throw her hat into the ring, she replied: “Yes, I’d love to! That’s a big fat yes!”
“Yeah I’d love to do that, honestly,” she added.
Turkey has not taken part in the Eurovision since 2012 in protest at changes in the contest’s voting system so representing the UK may be her only option.
Next year would be a great year to fly the flag with the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest set to take place here.
While the UK came in second place at this year’s competition, they offered to host for winners Ukraine as they are unable to do so due to security concerns caused by their ongoing conflict with Russia.
