Former Leeds United midfielder Eirik Bakke has named Brenden Aaronson in his Premier League team of the season so far. Aaronson made the summer switch to Elland Road from Red Bull Salzburg and has enjoyed a productive start to his career at Leeds.
The 22-year-old has scored one goal and provided two assists so far, with his most recent contribution coming in the final game before the World Cup break when he set up Crysencio Summerville for his fourth goal in as many matches. That said, it is certainly in the final third where Aaronson can improve, with more goal involvements certainly needed from the American.
Either way, he has still proved to be a solid signing for Leeds and his energy, as well as dribbling ability have become vital to the way that Jesse Marsch wants his side to play. Aaronson has primarily played as a number 10 for Leeds but Bakke has named him in his team of the season on the right of a front three that also includes Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.

Bakke has opted for a midfield three that includes Thomas Partey, Bruno Guimaraes and Kevin de Bruyne - who currently leads the assist charts this season. Again the defence is made up of only Newcastle United, Manchester City and Arsenal with Joao Cancelo and Kieran Trippier either side of a centre back partnership of Gabriel and William Saliba.
Newcastle's Nick Pope makes up the remainder of the XI, meaning Aaronson is the only non-Newcastle, Arsenal or City player to be included in Bakke's side.
