The summer transfer window is going to be a hugely important one for Chelsea and Thomas Tuchel. Not only are signings required to give the Blues a chance of winning the Premier League title but difficult decisions have to be made over certain members of the first-team squad.
For instance, what do Chelsea do with N'Golo Kante and Jorginho, both of whom are now 30 years old and out of contract in the summer of 2023? Marcos Alonso is in a similar boat but the Spaniard is far less integral than the aforementioned duo.
And do the Blues attempt to reshape their attack once more? Christian Pulisic, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have struggled for consistency under Tuchel. Kai Havertz and Romelu Lukaku too, although both were signed for big money and are unlikely to move on.
