Eight new beers launched by Liverpool and Ukraine breweries ahead of Eurovision

Liverpool and Ukraine breweries have come together to collaborate on the Beer Together project to celebrate the Eurovision Song Contest.

The Rambling Beer Co. brought together eight brewing communities to mark Liverpool hosting the contest on behalf of Ukraine. As a result, eight beers will be available at select venues throughout Liverpool during the Eurovision festivities.

The Liverpool and Ukraine breweries along with their product, include:

  • Neptune Brewery x Beermaster Brewery & Pub - Ukrainian Golden Ale
  • Liverpool Brewing Co. x Varvar Brew - American Pale Ale
  • Carnival Brewing Co. x Underwood Brewery x Bundobust Brewery - Mimosa Gose
  • Azvex Brewing Co. x MOVA - Hazy IPA
  • Black Lodge Brewing x Red Cat - Belgian Blanche Wheat Beer
  • Love Lane Brewery x Tsypa - Vienna Lager
  • Strawberry Fields Brewery x Hoppy Hog - Golden Ale “Pink Boots and Sunflowers”
  • The Rambling Beer Co. x Didko - Kveik IPA

The project has been organised by Sarah Hyde, accredited beer sommelier and co-owner of The Rambling Beer Co., along with Ukrainian beer writer and educator, Lana Svitankova.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, Sarah said: "Liverpool has an awesome beer scene with passionate brewers and hospitality staff, but I also knew that Ukraine's craft beer scene is equally as diverse and passionate. And getting beer in any volume out of Ukraine would be difficult. So, I came up with the idea of facilitating some collaboration brews between the breweries of Ukraine and Liverpool - a true celebration of unity between the two brewing communities.

Lana said: "I am deeply honoured to be involved in the project and to help the European audience discover Ukrainian breweries, especially during these trying times. A little more love, compassion, and camaraderie never hurt, and all of this will be delivered by Liverpudlian and Ukrainian breweries alike in sizable quantities. So come and enjoy the liquid expression of togetherness with us!"

Throughout the first half of May, alongside the Eurovision events in Liverpool, Sarah will be leading a range of activities, including beer tastings, meet-and-greet sessions with brewers, food pairing events, and guided walking tours.

The Head Of Steam on Hanover Street will be serving all eight beers over the Eurovision festival period, and will also serve as the hub for the project's regular tours and tasting.
