Eiffel Tower director Patrick Branco Ruivo will step down at the end of the year, the tower’s operator has announced, after female staff were excluded during a visit by a Hindu religious group – an incident that triggered a strike that closed the Paris landmark for a day.
Branco Ruivo has headed the Eiffel Tower Operating Company, or SETE, since 2018. The public company manages the monument for the City of Paris.
