Egypt has reiterated its firm commitment toward maintaining security in the Gulf and Arab region. This came in a message delivered by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq.

The Egyptian-Omani Joint Committee concluded its 15th session in Muscat, Oman, on Sunday under the chairmanship of Shoukry and his counterpart Badr bin Hamad Bin Hamoud Al-Busaidi, in addition to senior officials from both countries.

The two delegations signed an MoU between the Egyptian and Omani foreign ministries concerning political consultations, an MoU in the field of housing and urban development, as well as an MoU in the field of media.

They also signed an executive program for cooperation in the legal and judicial field, another in tourism, in addition to an agreement between the Egyptian and Omani Ministries of Education.

The two sides discussed major regional and international issues of mutual interest and expressed their satisfaction with the level of consultation and political coordination at various levels.

They also stressed their keenness to work together in regional and international organizations and forums to achieve common interests and international peace and security.

In the same context, Shoukry handed over a message from Sisi to Oman's ruler, during his meeting with Omani Deputy Prime Minister for the Cabinet Affairs Fahd bin Mahmoud al Said.

The FM underlined Egypt's firm commitment toward maintaining the Gulf and Arab security, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry spokesman.

The Egyptian top diplomat also pointed out to the close ties binding Egypt and Oman.
