Middlesbrough have made a "late" Deadline Day move to sign Rangers midfielder Connor Barron, according to a new report.
The former Aberdeen star has fallen down the pecking order at Ibrox following a raft of arrivals under Derek McInnes.
The Scottish Sun reports that Barron is now closing in on a switch to the North East, having earlier rejected the chance to join German second-tier side Hannover on loan.

Boro are pushing for promotion from the Championship after their play-off hopes were ended in agonising fashion by Hull City’s Oli McBurnie back in May.
Kim Hellberg’s side are making another bid to reach the Premier League and currently sit sixth in the table. Barron has been identified as a player who could help them cope with the demands of a long Championship campaign.
But Middlesbrough must complete the paperwork before tonight’s 11pm deadline if they are to get the deal over the line.
