Following a series of attacks that disrupted train scheduling in the west and southwest of France, the regional director of state company SNCF has stated that it will take at least 24 hours to restore the Atlantic railway line.
The regional SNCF director, Franck Dubourdieu, explained that the restoration process is challenging due to the specific cables needed for repairs. These cables are not readily available and are being sourced from various parts of France to expedite the network's repair.
Currently, most trains are operating on the eastern network with delays averaging about an hour. However, on the Atlantic side, only one in three trains are running, resulting in the cancellation of approximately 50 trains.
Dubourdieu expressed uncertainty about when the railway line will return to normal operations, emphasizing the complexity of the restoration efforts.
