Efforts ramped up to tackle anti-social behaviour in Newcastle after residents' concerns

Efforts to tackle anti-social behaviour are being escalated in Newcastle after residents raised concerns about the impact it was having in their communities.

An extra £1.5m is being invested into new projects to help combat the issue across the city. Newcastle City Council has already launched its Better Lives, Safer Communities programme which will see residents benefit from a range of schemes to reduce crime and create safer neighbourhoods.

Community projects will be implemented across the city to help the council build closer relationships with residents, learn more about their concerns and together develop plans to address disorderly behaviour.
