BENGALURU: All India Football Federation (AIFF) president Kalyan Chaubey acknowledged the increasing number of complaints on refereeing this season and said the federation is working hard to improve the standard of Indian referees.
"People want to watch a match free of human errors. This season we have seen several complaints regarding the quality of refereeing. The AIFF, jointly with FSDL (Football Sports Development Limited, which operates the Indian Super League), is spending a lot (to improve the standards). We also have a vastly experienced Englishman in charge of the referees. Now that we have addressed the financial issue of the referees, we will also try and do everything possible (to improve their quality)," Chaubey said here when asked whether Video Assistant Referee (VAR) would be implemented in ISL from next season.
