Edu has opened up on Arsenal's new fluid transfer plans - just months after he claimed that the Gunners were not looking to make wholesale changes to their squad.
After overseeing an extensive summer spending spree 12 months ago, the Gunners were expected to be reactive rather than proactive in the transfer market. Mikel Arteta headed into the off-season needing to sign a new striker after the north Londoners failed to source a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, but the club have gone on to sign a number of players.
Arsenal forked out around £75million to bring Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko to the club, while Fabio Vieira also cost somewhere in the region of £34m. The club have also shelled out on deals for Matt Turner and Marquinhos, and there is expected to be more activity at the Emirates Stadium before the transfer window slams shut in September.
